To describe these units as torches in the traditional sense of the word, in no way does them justice. They are manufactured in the US by ILKO Inc. and use their patented Night Detective Hyperbeam technology to create a penetrating beam. Their flagship HB C300 Light Cannon can light an area just 6 metres in diameter at an unbelievable 5 kilometers. The handheld torches, or searchlights as they are often termed, use the same technology and can similarly create a piercing beam which is effective at up to 250 meters, despite being generated from just ordinary batteries. They have applications in many different industries, including search and rescue, military etc...
